Abhishek Shirsat, aka Black Krait Arts is an Artist from Maharashtra, India.

​

The themes of his work revolve around his relationship with the forest that he grew up exploring and taking photographs in, and specifically with snakes, Nagas, साप. 

​

His tattoo creations are often born from interactions with snakes in the forest at night. The clients can join in exploring the jungle that sits at the edge of Red Earth House, Abhishek's home and art studio in Konkan Maharashtra. 

​

His artwork also falls into other mediums in more sculptural forms, using found 

materials such as Bamboo, Wood, Metal and Earth. The works find two quite

different categories, the first is more practical and functioning pieces,

such as Mosaic Chullas + Ovens, Mudhouses, Furniture. The second

is more expressive with wooden sculptures, Papier-mâché 

and large scale murals - again following the theme of

Snakes.

When he isn't at Red Earth House, you will 

find him travelling through India,

practising simplicity, living in Nature

and creating artwork nomadically

with his wife and baby Shesha.
